1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how ShotClean ("the App") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

2. Privacy-First Design

ShotClean is designed with privacy as a priority:

• Your photos and videos are never uploaded to any server
• All photo analysis and video compression is performed solely on your device
• Your photos are not shared with third parties
• We do not track which photos you view or delete
• No advertising networks or analytics tools (Firebase, Amplitude, etc.) are used
• No permissions are requested for location, camera, microphone, or contacts
• Photos and videos are never sent to any server. Only anonymous technical data is shared for subscription management (RevenueCat).

3. Photo Library Access

The App requires read and write access to your photo library for the following purposes:

• Detecting similar and duplicate photos
• Identifying screenshots
• Listing and compressing videos
• Deleting photos and videos you select
• Saving compressed videos to your library

Photo information accessed: Unique identifier, creation date, file size, resolution, media type, and favorite status.

Information NOT accessed: GPS/location data, camera make/model, ISO/shutter speed, or other EXIF details.

4. Face Data Processing

ShotClean uses the Apple Vision framework for limited face analysis to select the best photo in similar photo groups:

• Face Detection: Checks whether a face is present in the photo (yes/no)
• Face Quality Assessment: Calculates a quality score (0 to 1) based on criteria such as open eyes, smile, and sharpness

Important:

• Face recognition (identity determination) is NOT performed
• Faces are NOT associated with names or identities
• Face data is only temporarily held in your device's memory (RAM)
• Face data is NOT written to disk and does NOT leave your device
• Face data is automatically deleted when the app is closed
• Face data is not used for biometric identification and is not related to Apple Face ID.

5. Image Feature Prints

To detect similar and duplicate photos, machine learning-based fingerprints are generated from your photos using the Apple Vision framework. These fingerprints:

• Cannot be used to reconstruct the original photo
• Are stored only on your device (in the cache directory)
• Are never sent to any server
• Are automatically removed when you uninstall the app

6. Video Compression

Video compression is performed entirely on your device:

• Apple AVFoundation framework is used for compression
• Videos stored in iCloud are only downloaded with your explicit consent
• Compressed videos are temporarily stored on your device and the temporary file is removed after the save/delete operation is complete
• Video data is never sent to any server

7. Data Stored on Device

The App stores the following data only on your device:

• Scan results and photo analysis cache
• Image feature prints (in the cache directory)
• Your preferences and settings
• Subscription status (for offline access)
• Terms of use and privacy policy consent status

This data is deleted when you uninstall the App.

8. Device Information

The App accesses the following device information for performance optimization:

• RAM amount (for cache size configuration)
• Battery status (for iCloud download policy)
• Network connection type (for WiFi/cellular control)
• Available disk space (for pre-compression space check)

This information is not stored and does not leave your device.

9. Third-Party Services

We use only RevenueCat for subscription management:

• RevenueCat processes an anonymous user ID and subscription information
• Your photos, videos, or personal information are not shared with RevenueCat
• RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

Subscription status is shared between your devices via Apple iCloud Key-Value Store for synchronization. This sync occurs only between devices linked to your own Apple account and no data is sent to external servers.

The App does not use any other analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

10. Children's Privacy

The App does not intend to collect personal information from any user, including children. All data processing occurs entirely on the device, and no personal data is transmitted to external servers.

In-app purchases are managed through Apple's App Store, which provides its own parental controls and purchase authorization mechanisms.

11. Your Rights

You have the following rights:

• You can revoke photo library access at any time through iOS Settings
• You can delete all app data from your device by uninstalling the App
• Since we do not collect personal data, there is no data to delete on our servers
• For anonymous subscription data at RevenueCat, RevenueCat's data deletion policy applies

12. Data Security

Since your data does not leave your device, it is protected by your device's security features. We recommend using a device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID for additional protection. Subscription information is securely stored using your device's Keychain.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page and the "Last Updated" date will be updated. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
